Junior animator / designer

Mole is a successful digital media company based in Marlborough. We are currently looking for a Junior Animator / Designer to join our lovely video team.
We are looking for a talented and creative junior animator to join our team and work across our digital business. Your primary role will involve the design and creation of animated video work for our clients. This might be a simple end board or lower thirds for a video, creating short 2D animations to drop into longer pieces, and working on standalone animated films for social media and the web.

Alongside your animation work, you will also be involved with standard editing using Premiere Pro. In addition, you will be involved in visual design across our business, from creating static images for our digital campaigns to design for literature, web and more. As a member of our video team there’s also the opportunity for you to spread your wings and learn more about production. If you’re looking for a varied job with lots of opportunity to use your skills and learn new ones, this is the place for you.
You’ll need to be big on ideas and able to understand a brief quickly and turn it into a visual reality. A lot of our work involves representing complex ideas and science visually, so you’ll need to be willing to get stuck into some tricky topics and work out how to make them come alive on screen.

You’ll have lots of support from the team around you, but you will also need to be confident enough to work on your own to meet deadlines and make our clients happy. On some occasions you may have direct contact with clients, so good communication and people skills will be very important.

We’re looking for a graduate with experience of animation, design and editing – or a similar level of work experience. Either way, you’ll be creative, bright and eager to get stuck in and learn. You’ll also need to be happy to be away from home overnight when we’re filming. When we’re on location we often work longer and irregular hours – although very rarely at weekends – so you’ll need to be flexible (don’t worry – we look after our teams well!). You must have good experience of, and a real aptitude for, creating both 2D and 3D animations. You’ll need good, confident editing skills and the ability to work unsupervised, on occasion dealing with clients directly on the phone and face to face. Good inter-personal skills and confidence with clients are also essential
